Amazon is Europe's largest webshop

Amazon.com is the largest webshop in Europe. The company saw its European sales increase by 36 percent to 12.7 billion U.S. dollars. U.S. companies generate 12 percent of European online trading. This is the outcome of the first Top 300 Europe-examination of Internet Retailer.

The report shows which companies lead the market and how the local relations are developing.

The e-commerce market in Europe is 182 billion U.S. dollars and grew 12.5 percent compared to 2009. This means that the European digital market is larger than the U.S., where the turnover was 165 billion U.S. dollars.

Amazon.com is single-handedly responsible for 7 percent of all e-commerce in Europe. In total, U.S. companies account for 12 percent.
