Kiala sees turnover increase to 47.2 million euros

Kiala, the European network of collection points, last year saw its sales increase by 40 percent to 47.2 million euros. The majority of sales, 85 percent came from the telecom and e-commerce market. The company does not provide figures on the net results.

Kiala has a network of over 5,400 collection points in five countries including Belgium. Consumers can, if they are not at home, collect their online purchases from sites with long opening hours, such as petrol stations and dry cleaners. Also, consumers who order over the phone or via a product catalog, can collect that from a pick up point. The company daily processes about 136,000 packets in this manner.

In 2010, the company connected 160 new clients in Europe. Among the customers are Amazon, Vente Privée, Vente Exclusive and large mail order companies like Bertelsmann.

Since its start in 2002 Kiala had an annual growth averaging 56 percent. Sales rose from 1.3 million euros in 2002, the first full year of its operation, to 47.2 million euros in 2010.
